Little Feet Dayhome is a Private Dayhome in Airdrie
Currently Little Feet Dayhome is a Private Dayhome. Being a private dayhome I am able to provide child care for upto 6 children. Even though Little Feet Dayhome is not a approved dayhome, I thrive to follow all the guidelines set forth for licensed and approved dayhomes.

About Me and My Certifications

I'm a happily married 38 year old mother of two amazing children. My son is 2 years old and my daughter is 3 years old. I'm currently in the Licensed Practical Nursing Program, which I do in the evenings. I absolutely love being a mom and love spending time with kids in general.

Certifications

I have a clean vulnerable sector and criminal records check available upon request.

I also have my CPR Level HCP (Health Care Provider) which includes all Level C content and these additional skills: jaw thrust, pulse check, rescue breathing-adult, child, baby, BVM-adult, child, baby, Two-rescuer CPR-adult, child, baby.

Activities and Schedule - Our Day

At Little Feet Dayhome in Airdrie where I provide preimum child care in Airdrie there will be many age appropriate toys, games, puzzles, arts & crafts, activities, songs, stories, free play, physical activity - walking, outdoor play, dancing etc. - this will challenge motor skills, communication skills, social skills, physical and mental strengths and abilities all designed to prepare children for preschool/kindergarten. We have a daily schedule that we follow, but children can still eat, drink and sleep outside these times should they wish​.

Our Day - Daily Schedule

Our daily schedule is just a guideline so parents know what to expect. Since unplanned circumstances may arise or other opportunities occur our schedule can and will vary day to day.

7:00am- 8:00am- Daycare children arrive and enjoy self-directed play with toys.

7:30am- Breakfast is served (this time will change depending on when most kids arrive for the day)

8:30am- Circle Time

Toys are tidied up and children take part in a circle time. Circle time is when children sit together to sing a song, hear a story, or do an activity.

Often an activity can be introduced at circle and then opened up for self-directed discovery time.

For example, the children could be shown how to tear tissue paper to make long strips in red and white. After circle time, the strips of tissue paper could be used at craft time to make a Valentine’s Day craft.

9:00am- Craft/Activity Time

9:30am- Snack Time

10:00am- Washroom break/diapering

10:15-11:30- Outside Play

11:30- 12:00 -Wash hands, washroom break and lunch preparations

12:00-12:30-Lunch

12:30- Story time and Washroom break/diapering

1:00pm-3:00pm Nap time for babies and toddlers

1:00pm-2:00pm Quiet time with books for non-sleepers

2:00pm- Sit down activities for older children. Colouring, cutting/pasting, puzzles, stamping, plasticine, Lego, etc.

3:00pm- Washroom break/diapering

3:15pm- Snack Time

3:45-4:30- Self-directed play

4:30-5:30- Outside Play and pick-up time

This type of routine will meet the needs of any older children as well as younger babies. If I have young babies that nap in the morning, they could easily nap before I go outside to play.

Some babies will enjoy a mid-morning nap in the stroller or in a baby sling.

Older non-nappers will quickly become accustomed to their hour long quiet time when they play or read quietly on their own.

I like spreading non-nappers out throughout the house or playroom so they have their own space to dream and rest in their own imaginary world.

Consistency

I am the primary care giver. You do not have to worry about high turnover and a new caregiver every few visits. Pet Free and Smoke Free Home. Flexible hours.

Healthy Meals

Provide healthy meals - meal plans will be altered according to children's preferences and any dietary restrictions.

Breakfast is served at 9:00 am; Lunch 12:00 pm and afternoon snack 3:00 pm or sooner. All meals will be accompanied by milk, juice, water or chocolate milk.

Rates Per Child

1 day a week: $200/month

2 days a week: $375/month

3 days a week: $550/month

4 days a week: $675/month

5 days a week: $750/month

Daily Drop In Rate is $50/Day

Fees for 1, 2, 3, and 4 days a week will be set days, as previously discussed. All payments are due no later then the 1st of each month. Daily drop in fee is due at time of drop off daily.

The preferred method of payment is email money transfer payable to: littlefeetdayhome@gmail.com

Secondary payment method is cash.

No refund or discount will be given for the days your child is absent due to sickness or vacation. This ensures that your child's spot is still reserved at Little Feet Dayhome in Airdrie regardless of their attendance. Fees will be reduced for any vacation time that I take, excluding stat holidays as outlined above.

Additional late fee charges will apply for late pickups unless otherwise discussed, $10.00 for every 30 minutes late, per child. I do understand that there are circumstance beyond your control (weather, traffic, accidents, health problems etc.) and I will make exceptions provided you call and notify me. Just know that I have may have previous arrangements, so I ask that you respect my time, as I would yours.

A one time deposit of $100 is required to be paid to secure each child's placement. This deposit will be deducted off your first month's fees.

Hours

Little Feet Dayhome in Airdrie will be open to provide child care in Airdrie from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday (flexible just ask). Other arrangements will be considered upon special request. We will be closed on all statutory holidays:

The day home will also be closed for an additional 2 to 3 weeks for my holidays. Notice of these holidays will be given minimum 1 month in advance; both weeks of vacation typically fall in the summer months, one near the end of June and the other at beginning of August and the third week doesn't always happen.
