Daycare description / philosophy

WELCOME TO SNUGGLE BUMS DAYHOME:)We are a large, bright home of 4-including myself, my husband and our 2 daughters. Our private day home hours of operation are 7:00am- 5:30pm. We are excited to be opening our home to some new friends. We are a block from the Nose Creek School which also has bus stop for some of our friends that attend Ecole Edwards. We enjoy playing dolls, arts and crafts, reading, singing, baking(if age appropriate), puzzles, dressing up and just about anything else fun, silly and creative you can think of. We have TWO floors of play space so we have tons of space to do it in! There are many fun educational toys to help improve motor skills and cognitive thinking. TV is kept to a min. And absolutely no violence! With a fenced yard, 2 playgrounds down the street and being close to walking trails we get lots of exercise. We also walk some friends to and from the school twice a day, with the little ones getting wagon rides. :) My husband and I try our best to parent by a positive discipline model and have attended seminars educating us on children and all aspects of them. This empowers our children to think for themselves with guided problem solving skills. We try to connect and correct instead of punish but some times time outs are just unavoidable. I also use some signing to help with communication and to keep the little ones frustration level to a minimum. I have a current St Johns CPR and First Aid certification, Police and Vulnerable Clearance, proper insurance and attend Positive Discipline Conferences for the childcare field. I am one of those mamma bears that doesn't just let anyone watch her bundles of joy- so I get it! I respect and understand those of you that are as cautious as I am.
