Daycare description / philosophy
Dear Parent/Caregiver,
At Bilingual Art Child Care (BACC) we know how much your child means to you, how much you care and want the best for them. We are grateful to be able to share in the joys of watching them learn and grow at their every step.
About our Centre:
?? BACC is a licensed and accredited Daycare and Before and After School Centre. We are located in the community of Temple in Northeast Calgary.
?? We are open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6pm (excluding statutory holidays).
?? We have spots available for full-time care and part-time care. We also have drop in on a first come, first serve basis.
?? We care for children aged 12 months or older.
?? We provide breakfast, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack.
?? We accept subsidy for qualified families.
What makes us Special?
?? We provide the best of both worlds: a cozy family/home-like environment with the structure of an Early Learning Centre.
?? Emphasis on the Individual Child: we have Individualized Development Plans for each child in our Daycare Program so that we can track and help them work on skills.
?? Our Staff: we are a Family at BACC. Our teachers are warm, honest, and passionate. We are a diverse team speaking different languages (English, Mandarin, French, Tagalog, Hindi). On top of formal training in Early Childhood Development, our team members come from different training backgrounds and specialities in the fields of Special Needs Care, Creative Arts, Music, Communication, and Social Studies.
? ?? Warm, family environment with friendly teachers who are passionate, qualified, and competent.
?? We believe that open communication with parents is essential to a child’s wellbeing. At the end of each day, parents receive a daily report by email of what and how their child did.m
?? At other daycares, your child is confined to a home room. At BACC, we have different rooms for the child to explore: Creative Learning Room, Montessori Room, and Recreational Room.
?? We are a secured premises. We have secured entryways with passcoded locks that only caregivers have access to. We have security cameras in and outside our centre.
?? We have fun field trips for our Preschool and school-aged children! We’ve been to the Zoo, Police Station, Post Office, Picnics in the Park, Swimming, and the Public Library. This month, we went to the Fire Station!
?? Our monthly learning themes always draw on the children’s special interests. Each month, we are doing something new so that your child has enough stimulation to develop and grow!
About our Programs:
?? Infant Program (12 months-19 months old): At this stage, meeting your child’s unique needs and providing a nurturing environment are our primary focus. We build on multi-sensory experiences, language and communication development, and Montessori practical life skills.
?? Toddler Program (20 months to 3.5 years old): Toddlers crave the opportunity to explore and learn in a safe environment. It is our goal to provide this. Weekly activities are planned to meet their interests and needs, and to encourage exploration, learning, and independence. We focus on sensory and imaginative play, language development, social, and Montessori self-help skills.
?? Preschool Program (3.5-5 years old):
Our structured preschool program draws on both traditional and Montessori-based activities to teach children about subjects like language development and literacy (including bilingual French and Mandarin teaching), numeracy, STEM, writing, problem solving, creative arts, and dramatic play. Of course, there will also be arts, crafts, games, puzzles, books, and outdoor play. We offer a half day Preschool Program that runs everyday from 9-11:30am (includes lunch).
?? Before and After School Care: We provide pick-up and drop-off services for the following schools: Annie Foote, Monterey Park, and Guy Weadick Schools. Our kindergarten kids are offered an enhanced childcare curriculum which combines both play-based and academic-oriented learning, and focuses on language development and literacy, numeracy, writing, problem solving, creative arts, and social skills. We provide children with one-on-one homework time so that we can tutor them on subjects they are learning in school. Our children enjoy special workshops, clubs, and games. Recently, we had an outdoor garden, Robot building club, and games club.
