Daycare description / philosophy

Welcome Sooke Families,

Hi, my name is Deborah. I run a licenced daycare in a new family neighbourhood in central Sooke. I began working in this field when I started my own family in 1999. Though my own children are no longer in need of care, I have continued along this path as I love what I do. We are a very active daycare and involved in many activities. Our mornings most always include an outing. We attend various playgroups and programs such as CASA drop-in, Strong Start, Kindergym , Books For Breakfast, and music programs. On other mornings you'll find us out and about, at local parks, playgrounds, ball fields, beaches, gardens, walking, and more. We go everywhere and experience a variety of fun and adventure. Through our play we nurture our creative and imaginative selves. At home the children participate in numerous activities which support their learning and developmental growth. And yes, we do have down time too.

Many children will attend fulltime daycare between the ages of 1 and 4.5 years. My aim is to develop a partnership of caring focused on your child. I believe you cannot underestimate the value of a family environment where the care provider remains the same. This type of care allows for strong bonds to be formed. In addition to this, there are often close friendships formed between the young peers, siblings, and families. A child will feel truly secure in this type of care, allowing them to focus their energy on the business of growing up well, and having some fun on the way.
