Daycare description / philosophy

DAYCARE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

St. George's Daycare opened the doors to its newly-renovated facility in 2009 to children and parents. St. George's is operated by the Hellenic Community of Vancouver, a community centre established in the Arbutus area since 1977.

Children enjoy a warm, home-like environment with beautiful outdoor grounds with a private, safely gated playground area. Children grow and develop their cognitive, social and language skills in a happy and safe setting. Our Early Childhood Education Certified teacher has developed a program that facilitates learning and fun.

We also offer a gradual entry program for parents to help make the transition from home to daycare easier for little ones joining daycare for the first time. Our ECE instructor would be happy to discuss whatÂ’s best for your childÂ’s needs.

St. George's Daycare "Learning through play" philosophy helps the children grow towards knowing themselves as well as the world around them.

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

Children learn concepts related to numbers, space and time through weekly theme activities. Creative development is also emphasized.

Children are encouraged to use imagination to answer questions and solve problems.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Your child will interact with other children in the same age group and learn about caring and sharing through play. Your child will learn to recognize, accept and express feelings, be able to develop independence and make decisions. Your child will develop a positive self-image which contributes to their emotional growth.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Language skills are developed as your child communicates with the other children and teacher through retelling stories, learning rhymes, singing songs and interactive play. Children develop their English language skills in a comfortable and encouraging setting.

5 days per week $1100 per month
4 days per week $900 per month
3 days per week $700 per month
2 days per week $440 per month
1 day per week $220 per month
*A fee of $55.00 daily for any extra days or drop-ins.
*Competitive rates include snacks.
*We accept subsidies.
