Title: Opinions on in home childcare!
Post by: MissV on October 14, 2010, 08:33:32 AM
Hi, I had a question for parents or anyone in the field.
I currently work in an in home pre-school. Ive been there
for 3 years.  :) I love it!
I do want to open kindda the same thing in my home.
It wont be in the next week but your opinion would be great.
I have my ECE, first aid, and 5 years experience.
The thing is,I don't have kids yet. Most people who start
a dayhome/in home daycare are mothers.
Do you guys think ill have trouble having kids come to
My in home daycare when I get it started.
Thanks hope to get feedback soon!

I started my dayhome a couple months ago and have education and experience in child care. However i still haven't had anyone register. I do feel it is harder to start if you have no kids. Seems like no one wants to be the first ones to start lol... Hope you have better luck than I did.

Hi I think with your experience you'll have a good start it's all about advertising and getting the word out.  Go to your local schools and ask to put a flyer up, talk to other daycare providers in your area if their full and have people calling they may be willing to give your contact info to the parents, also the library there's some websites that offer free advertising also.
Good luck

Kate

I agree, get the word out. If you have good rates, and a clean place you shouldnt have a problem. Good luck :)

It'll be harder, it's hard to begin with.... you have great experience though, just advertise and get the word out. Good luck!
