Title: Toddler Information needed
Post by: Vinitha on November 09, 2010, 12:36:43 PM
Hi
I am vinitha who recently relocated to Toronto from India. I am not exactly sure about the school system here. I have a son of almost 2yrs. I am not ready to leave him now to school , but i heard from neighbors that you need to register now to get availability in a pre-school/kindergarden at the age of 2.5yrs. Can anyone tell me about the Canadian type of schooling.. What age is perfect for my son. What should I do now so that He goes to school at right time.

Thank you in Advance

Vinitha

Hi Vinitha,

Welcome to Godaycare.com

Your neighbours may be talking about nursery school, preschool programs or daycare centres.  These are not mandatory for your child to attend.  In order to register for these, you will need to call each location separately and put your child on a waiting list.

In regards to formal education, i've included a link which should help answer your questions:

http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/

Hope this helps you.
