Title: Oriental Trading
Post by: jharrisece on March 10, 2008, 04:30:20 PM
Just thought I would pass along the info - you can get a free catalogue from this company if you go on-line (just Google them) and you can also order from the website.  This is a US company but I think they are sending through Canada Post rather than cross-border.  I still have to find out if we 'get away' without paying duty - -I think that is what they are trying to do to get Canadian customers.  Anyways, while it is mostly party supplies there is alot of craft kits that seem inexpensive.  At least it saves time planning and prepping!  I think I will be shopping today!

Thanks for the website information.  It will be great for parents and providers to find a new place for shopping.

Ha-Ha spud!  It is funny you said that because when my oldest asked 'Why is it called Oriental Trading I said 'because everything is likely made in China!  ;D

Funny but true, although North American consumer has no one else to blame but themselves. We like to buy things that are cheap, almost without regard to quality, because it puts money into our pockets. The fact that it's cheaper to produce goods, ship them from a country that's thousands of kilometers away from here and to still make good profit should make you wonder.

I guess I one of those few of a kind. I try my best to buy locally and will go out of my way to buy something Made In Canada. I avoid anything (whenever possible ) made in China. I refuse to support any part of that country...they have nothing of quality, its either going to be recalled soon or it will break before that, or it s contaminated with something...
