Post by: CareDC on November 24, 2009, 11:12:23 AM
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning the crib your child sleeps in might be dangerous. The agency is announcing the largest crib recall in United States history for a specific kind of crib made by Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc. of British Columbia, Canada.

The cribs are equipped with a side that drops down to allow easier access. Ann McGaha of Stork Land in Wichita Falls said her store doesn't sell that type of crib, which has been plagued with problems.

According to the C.P.S.C., There have been "dozens" of deaths over the past decade involving drop side cribs made by different manufacturers.

The federal government has recalled nearly 5 million cribs in the past two years. The vast majority of them were cribs with drop sides.

Tuesday's recall involves multiple models made by Stork Craft from January 1993 to October 2009. 147,000 of which have the Fisher Price logo.
