any ideas on advertising
« on: September 19, 2011, 01:16:04 PM »
I started a new home daycare in Innisfil, I advertised on godaycare.com and got two inquiries that did not pan out. I advertised in the paper, put up flyers on the mailbox, I saw someone else do this so I tried, it was taken down the next day, not sure by whom. Any ideas on how else to advertise.

Where I live there are several ways to advertise:

Newspaper and fliers, which you have covered.

Kijiji and Craigs List, which another person covered.

Schools usually have lists.  Try the Town Office.  And most provincial daycare associations maintain lists, but parents don't know about these.

Your own website also works.  The goal being that if a parent googles "Town Name" and the word "daycare", then your website comes up.

Another option is calling other daycares and asking if they know of anyone looking for care.

I get about one infant spot opening up every year.  Every week I get a call from someone looking for infant care.  As such,  I don't mind handing out my waiting list to others.
