Any ideas why toddlers like to carry objects? Objects that might be twice the size of them?

ha ha, not sure, but its a fun task! ITs similar to why babies must crawl with items in the mouth...

I've never seen babies crawling with objects in their mouths (but it must really look funny). I guess it's the only way to carry things they want from one area to the next

I have not seen that. But your baby might have seen someone during carrying a that heavy object. So, he might be trying to do so.
