Receiving benefits from the government
« on: July 22, 2008, 12:43:45 PM »
Were you one of the 11 million Canadians who ended up receiving one or several of the 85 million benefit payments totaling $16 billion the Government of Canada doled out in 2007?

If you didn't and you're wondering why, you may have been left out in the cold. And it might be because you didn't apply to receive some of the money the government has decided to release from its coffers.

Depending on your income, you may be entitled to the goods and services tax (GST) credit. For those of you with children, you may also be entitled to the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) and the Universal Child Tax Benefit (UCTB).
