When encouraging.....
« on: July 29, 2008, 10:17:08 AM »
When encouraging independance and self help skills it is important to be patient yourself. Children who feel rushed will become upset and start to have tantrums.

Be prepared to wait and offer the help when you think they need it, don't jump in and take over. It is very easy to just do it ourselves, however it is a milestone for children to be able to be independant to the best of their ability.
