Starting a home child care service
« on: June 29, 2009, 06:42:23 PM »
Hi,
I'll be moving out west (around Surrey- BC) in a couple of months with my 2 Y.O. daughter.  I want to open a home child care service with bilingual educational program (pre kindergarden 3-5 y.o.).  I'm a teacher here in Quebec but I want to take some time off to stay with my girl and do something else (many years in fact ).  Do you think it is realistic to open a day care in BC?  How would I verify if I'm in a region where they need day cares?  How would I verify the average price for such service???
Please help me!

You can contact the monitoring body out in bc and inquire about licensing and ask if they have performed any needs assessments and if they have any areas currently in need of care..or a large wait list area. Good luck!
