Daycare description / philosophy

I understand how difficult it must be for parents to send their children off to daycare, although they may not be ready for it -- parent or child. That is why I want to assure all families that their child(ren) will be nurtured and cared for, so that the transition from their home to my home will be full of support and guidance (for both the child and parent). My goal is to provide the child care I would want and expect for my own children.

From my experience in working with kids, I have learned the importance of how the consistency of my words and actions can positively influence how children learn, develop, and view the world.

And as a parent of a toddler and a newborn, I have learned that sometimes all a child needs is a little bit of love, patience, encouragement, and sympathy.

This is the example that I aim to set for all children in my care -- I want them to learn to respect the words and actions of others, and I want them to gain independence and confidence by motivating and reinforcing the behaviours that I believe will support their academic, social, and emotional success.

Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are provided.

Some of the group activities that we do help to develop motor, sensory, or academic skills, while others are just for fun -- games, arts and crafts, or baking.

Free play is strongly encouraged, as the natural setting provides children with the opportunity to practice life skills and learn about their peers as well as themselves.
