Daycare description / philosophy
I provide a loving, nurturing in-home daycarepreschool environment for a small group of 5 (max.) children per day, where our motto here is Play To Learn, Learn To Play, Our Caring and Sharing Daycare Way. I have extensive experience in providing childcare, having run my home daycare preschool and working in a daycare center since 1986. My goal is to provide a quality environment and program that offers a healthy balance between the best of a home childcare (small group, homey setting, loving nurturing care, family oriented) and the best of a centerclassroom (comparable activites, stimulating literacy-based environment, structured age appropriate program and routine). Our day here includes: Freeplay time in large spacious playhouse room with a variety of toys and activities such as blocks, dramatic play, magnet board, flannel board, puppets and books. Circle time daily is filled with songs, rhymes, stories, music and games. Our second space is the preschool room, a large bright colorful area with child-size tables and chairs, large book shelf, 4-bin sensory table, chalk boardpainting easel, magnetflannel board, and large shelf full of 'play to learn' activities such as puzzles, peg boards, sort and pattern toys, lacing and assorted fine motor activities and more. The daycare kitchen and bathroom are also in this room. Here we have snacks and lunch, child-choice learning time, group and individual learning, artcreative time. My daycare space is located in the lower level of our home, located across the street from a large open field and splash pad. Outside playtime in the yard and patio is filled with riding toys, a playhouse, a web climber, pirate climber, swingset, sandbox and lots of toys. Our early education includes use of songs for the alphabet and phonics, colors, shapes and numbers. Daily we have a calendar circle time, and continue to learn and practice countingand number recognition, colors and shapes, alphabet and letter recognition while reading and playing together. My goal here is to meet all your child's developmental needs: emotional, social, nutritional, physical and educational, so they are best prepared for the all important kindergarten entrance to big(ger) school. So why choose Sue's PRESCHOOL over any others. I have built an excellent reputation within the community as an active member of the Ontario Early Years Center, worked for several years with City of Brantford Childcare offering subsidized care, have been recognized by Kids Can Fly having earned my 20 Years Children Service Pin, and was named The Children's Champion ECE Award Winner in 2004.Daycare Features
