Daycare description / philosophy

We're looking for a new little friend to join the fun we have each day! We have 2 full time spots available (start Sept. or immediate).

We'll keep your little one safe and happy, and provide time to learn, play, and be physically active. We play outside every day, in our own fenced-in yard (outdoor toys, activities and little tikes playground equipment...check out our photos!) and (weather permitting) go for daily walks to the many parks and playgrounds near our house.

We play indoors in our "jungle" playroom... including dress-up, building blocks, play kitchen, cars/trucks/tracks, ride-on toys, tent, tunnel, and indoor play structure so we can still be active on rainy days!

Our quieter time is spent in our livingroom playroom.... we love to read from a huge selection of books, do puzzles, play trains at the train table, and much more. We spend even more learning time in our kitchen, where we do pre-school learning activities and crafts at our table. Then we display all our artwork in the kitchen where we can see it while we enjoy our nutritious lunch and snacks. It makes for a very fun and busy day!

I'm a happy mom of three (boys ages 2 and 3, and a daughter who is 10.) I'm 32 but have over 20 years of related child care experience, including home day care, assistant-teaching in a kindergarden classroom, after-school programs, teaching swim lessons, sunday school, and more. I am certified and experienced in First Aid and CPR (I have over 8 years of lifeguarding experience).

Our home is child-friendly (child-proof!) smoke-free, and pet-free (well mostly pet-free, we do have a goldfish in the kitchen and a gecko in my daughter's room but they are not allowed out of their tanks). =)

I will be walking my son to JK at Chalmers St. School starting in September (Mon/Wed/Fri) so we'd happily welcome another JK who is attending those days.

We are in walking distance of: Holy Spirit Catholic School, Cambridge Christian School, Chalmers Street Public School, Alison Park Public School, and St. Ambrose Catholic School, and we also welcome school-aged children for before/after school hours.
