Daycare description / philosophy

My name is Amanda, I am Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 12 years experience. I have full time and part time spots. I provided nutrious meals and snacks. I plan daily activities that work on areas of development and use different areas of play and learning.

My Childcare philosphy; Family child care in a "home like" setting is the best alternative there is for working parents. It provides a small secure environment for children during the most important time of their development. Family child care offers a home away from home, providing children with "siblings" of all ages, to play, socialize, and learn from other children. My goal in providing quality child care for your child is to provide"¦

Safe, nurturing, respectful and fun environment, which will give the child the greatest opportunity to grow and develop.

A learning environment"¦ learning is not necessarily the ABC's and 123's, but is also the learning of values. The learning of honesty, respect, kindness, trust, and self discipline. Children learn through play where they learn cognitive, language, physical and social skills. They are encouraged to use their imagination.

As an educator/provider it's my job to strive to create an environment that is fulfilling, enriching, and supporting of all possible learning and growing opportunities.

I believe the most effective way to teach young children good behavior is to use positive discipline methods such as verbal support, non-monetary rewards and positive role modeling. On are rare occasion children may require a time out to ensure the safety of their self or another child.

Communication is very important and a key to a successful childcare arrangement between provider and parents. It lets the provider know what needs your child may need that day if they had a rough night or change in routine. The provider will follow up with verbal feedback of how the child's day was at pick up.
