Daycare description / philosophy

I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with fifteen years of experience, three years of supervisory experience. I am excited to have opened my own home based child care centre this past May. We are conveniently located on a large rural property on Millgrove Sideroad, minutes from Clappison's Corners. The day care is located in a separate area of the home and is large and spacious. Within the room there is a kitchen and eating area, quiet area, sleep area, creative/sensory area and a large play area with attached washroom facilities. The room is open concept and large, allowing for constant supervision of the children. The patio doors provide access to the fenced in and secure playground.

The children will participate in a play based program that is developmentally appropriate for their age. Daily activities will include: creative, sensory, dramatic play, science, literacy, math and cooking. I have recently added a "Preschool Clubhouse" where the preschool children have all day access to creative/writing materials, as well as literacy and numeracy materials. They are able to enjoy this space while still under constant supervision but away from busy baby hands!

A large emphasis will be placed on outdoor play and enjoying nature. Being located on a rural property, we have a hobby garden with fresh organic produce that your children will enjoy during the summer season. We have a walking path and trail that goes through the wooded area that will be used on occasion (weather and safety permitting).
