Daycare description / philosophy

My name is Jessica. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator, with a degree in Child Studies, offering care for your child in my home. I operate my daycare following the Day Nurseries Act as closely as possible to ensure that your child will receive exemplary care in an atmosphere that promotes learning through child led explorative play in a fun, positive and loving environment.
One part- time (Thursday/Friday) opening for care starting February 2013
Two full time summer opening (July to September)
Two part-time Thirsday/Friday openings
Cost of Care is 40.00 per day
Safety is # 1 - Each child's physical and emotional safety will be my top priority at all times while they are within my care.
Play will be the main tool used for learning in my program. It is my goal to provide a fun, loving, light, language rich environment in which your child feels confident and comfortable to learn and grow in. To achieve this I will provide a carefully structured day that is flexible to each child's developmental needs, learning styles and individual interests.
Focus on Early Literacy, achieved through environmental set up, play, circle time, creative movement, and carefully planned activities and art experiences filled with plenty of opportunity for dialogue.
Promote the use of a signing/speaking combination for your little one that is not yet speaking in an effort to help promote clear communication and lessen frustration.
Healthy snacks and lunches that follow the Canadian Food Guide for healthy Eating will be served. A variety of homemade meals using fresh ingredients will be served on a rotating four week menu plan.

Operating hours are approximately 730 am to 530 pm. These hours can be flexible to your schedule so please still inquire if you require care that are outside my posted operating hours.
