Daycare description / philosophy

I am currently looking to fill spots for September, I also do before and after school for children in the Rickson Ridge School Area.

Tiddlywinks is your child's home away from home!!
Run in the basement of my home, the children play in the playroom, eat snacks and do crafts in the little kitchen area and play outside in my large fenced-in yard or double drive way.

I am a mother of seven children (two of my own, the others are your children!). I have been providing child care for six years now, before this, I worked in group homes for children with developmental and special needs. I have a University education as well I attended Teachers college. I am also First aid/cpr and police checked.

I run my daycare to be a fun learning environment. I believe that learning is fun and should be done in a variety of ways. I have a deep love of nature and I try to foster that love in the children I care for. We have set group activites, circle time, crafts and individual activities where skills such as puzzles, pencil grip, reading and many others are focused on.

Music and dance are great ways to get moving and to learn and are a big part of my mornings. We play outside whenever the weather cooperates and go for hikes once a week. In the afternoon the older children do their school work and play quiet games together while the little ones have a rest.

Eatting healthy is very important so you won't find juice here and my lunches are all things you would have for dinner - no sandwichs found here!! but lots of great manners!! Fruit and veggies everyday!!!

All the children I care for become part of my family and have a special place in my heart and become my children's friends. We have a lot of parties here and many themed weeks of learning.

My hours are 7:45am to 5:30pm but earlier drop off and later pick up can be arranged. I have a loving dog who barks at some people but loves to come for our outtings to the park and forest.
