Daycare description / philosophy
Little Lamb's Home Daycare
This is a letter regarding daycare in my home. To tell you a little bit of how it works and a little bit about myself.
I accept children from the ages 0 months to 11 years of age. My hours are 7 am -6:00 pm. I charge $30 for 9-10 hours. This includes lunches and snacks. I have a flexible payment schedule either every friday or every two weeks I am closed every stat holiday. I take two weeks holiday a year.
I have lots of experience with children of all ages, I spent the majority of my life babysitting, or doing co- op with children. I am the oldest of 20 cousin ages 25 to 11 weeks old. So I was always the family resident babysitter. As well I cared for one boy from the ages of 2 months old until he was 3 years old. I did co-op with a boy with autism, and have family members with such an illness. So I can certainly handle all sorts of situations with all sorts of children. Since I have started caring for children in my home I have cared for children ages 11 months to 6 years of age. I have been caring for children on a regular basis for a little over two years in my home and theirs.
I own my home and have a fenced in back yard. In my home I have a 2 declawed cat and a beagle puppy. My puppy lily loves kids she has been around them since the day we brought her home. The children and lily play all the time. She is gentle with them and she seems to be teaching them a lot about caring for animals, playing gently and some responsibility. Such as taking lily for walks up and down the street. Lily is attached to the children in the house, she even will whine at the door when they go home. My cats does not bother with the child too much and does his own thing.
I try to have one on one time with each child. I could be as simple as playing with blocks with them, doing flash cards or even just sitting with them while they look at a book. I also try to spend as much time interacting with them as possible. While still give them independence to play on their own. We have 30 minutes at least every day outside, going for a walk or to the park. The children get a sense of good behaviour as well as experiencing new things and areas they may have not been around before. I have a lot of learning tools such as flash cards, books, arts and crafts. As well as many educational toys example...leap frog radio, see and say etc. I believe that a child should have as much of a chance to learn as possible.
I enjoy working with children. I want them to feel as this is home away from home. A place they can feel safe and secure in. I believe that myself and the parents should have a professional as well as friendly relationship. So as parents you feel free to ask questions and communicate with me about the care and things happening with your child.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Attached is some other information to you to look over.
Yours truly
