Hello Kingston families!

Thank you for your interest in Playcare! My name is Melinda, and I am beginning my fourth year of this exciting and rewarding experience of operating Funshine Playcare, a fun, family oriented home daycare. I`m mom to two healthy little ladies who just won`t stop growing, and are now five ans six years old!! Working with (hanging out with) little ones has been a passopm for quite awhile. I obtained a diploma in Child and Youth Work here in Kingston back in 2006 and have had the rewarding experience of working with children of all ages in educational, residential, and community based settings. Along with a diploma is CYW, I am certified in First Aid and CPR, Crisis Prevention Intervention, have a clean CPIC, and am experienced working with children with cognitive and behavioral disorders.

Playcare is operated is an established home daycare and is designed to serve families with children aged twelve months and up. I am dedicated to providing enriching care in a caring environment. My mission is to operate in a manner similar to licensed child care in terms of quality, while providing the flexibility and affordability, that is equally crucial to working families. Playcare will follow some guidelines as set out in the Day Nurseries Act, such as providing nutritous snacks and meals that follow the Canadian Food Guide, adopting similar policies for disciplinary action, and providing a variety of structured activities that are enriching and allow children to exercise their sensory, fine motor, and gross motor skills.

Playcare is nestled in a quiet residental neighbourhood off Portsmouth Avenue.

We're located directly beside large park with nature trails, playground, and soccer field.
