Daycare description / philosophy

My Home Childcare Center offers more than a regular home daycare.

I offer a preschool program for children of all ages. All of our toys are educational, safe, clean and built to last - with most coming from Playmobile, Scholar's Choice, Plan Toys and more.

I currently have 2 spots open starting NOVEMBER 2008 for one child aged zero - 3 years, and one child aged 3-4 years.

I am current with my First Aid / CPR, Police Check, FCS Check, up to date on all my vaccinations, I have insurance for the house and van ($2million liability) and I am subsidized with the Region of Waterloo.

Our daily routine is structured with 2 snacks, lunch and a 2 hour rest period (for children under 4). We do a variety of crafts, and have themes we gear our days activities around. We have already planted vegetables, picked strawberries, watched a catapillar turn into a butterfly, picked pumpkins and went on a hay ride.

We are very hands on, and the children love to learn about the things around them. Their schedule will include the basics of numbers, colors, body parts etc... and they will learn more advanced skills such as sign language.

They will have classes at specific times (such as a preschool) which includes: music class, art class (and art history), indepentant reading time and group work (circle time) where we cover math, science and social studies.

It is a participative home childcare - meaning the partents are required to participate with things such as: bringing empty paper towel rolls, yarn, egg cartons, cereal boxes and other item we may need on a monthly basis. The parents are also required to supply a small fee for our major field trips (usually $5 a trip for fuel costs).
