Daycare description / philosophy

To all the Mommies and Daddies searching for a Home Daycare Provider... My name is Grecia and I absoltely love working with children. I used to be a Montessori Teacher and loved teaching children French and playing with them at all hours of the day. I then decided to start my own Home Daycare and eventually want to expand my business into a centre down the road.

My hour of operations are Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. I provide organic snacks and lunches, always give fruit in the morning to start the day off healthy and energetic and then a nice home made meal for lunch. I dont want to brag, but I am an excellent cook. I absolitely love cooking and I'm always wiling to make new things for the kiddies to try and expand their horizons with food. I always serve vegetables as well during lunch time to get the kids used to eating them and for afternoon snack I usually give the 'yummier' snacks like bear paws or cheese and crackers. It makes the kids happy when they see the 'yummy' snacks come out of the cabinet.

I have a fenced off backyard with lots of toys, outdoor plkay cars, outdoor playhouses and pretend lawn mowers and such. The kiddies absolitely love playing outdoors, run around, and enjoy the fresh air and sun. We go out everyday weather permitting of course. There also is an excellent park right infront of my house (Secord Park). The kids love going there to play and slide down the slides or go on the swings and such. I have a stroller that I take my small kiddies in and the big kids walk in the very important buddy system I have.

I went to University at the University of Toronto for Pyschology in Children, then after that I started working as a French Teacher at a private school for two years and feel in love with the children. I decided to start my own business from home and I treat the kids that are in my Daycare as if they were my own. I am with them every single day from 8am-6pm. I am very warm, love to give hugs and kisses and Im right up in the kids faces with love and support at all times of the day. Affection is a huge part of my Family Daycare and its very important for your children to be in a happy and loving Daycare when their parents are at work. So I call my daycare, your child's home away from home.
I make their transition super easy and comfortable. I believe that communication with parents is extremely important that way we can facilitate your child's day with ease and comfort at all times.
In the beginning, theres always a few tears during drop off when your child is new to my Daycare, but once they meet the kiddies here and play with all the toys, they get really comfortable and especially are happy. Thats my main thing, happiness.

All I want is for your child to be happy, run to your arms at the end of the day and say they want to come back to see me and their new friends.

I also do half an hour of french most days to enhance your childs learning abilities. At this young age, kids minds grasp everything they observe and hear. They WANT to learn! I, myself, speak four languages. I was born in Mexico and moved to Canada when I was 8 years old. I speak Spanish, English, French and Italian. My parents put me in Extended French when I was young and I continued it all the way to University as well as Italian. Once in University, I studied German and Latin but then changed my major to Pysch in Children. Therefore, I enjoy teaching the kids French and Spanish sometimes too.
