My name is Vanesa Almeida; I am the passionate creator of Playful Minds. As a young individual, I aspire to make a meaningful impact in childcare, finding opportunities to set Playful Minds apart. Playful Minds is a welcoming home based care inviting children ages 1-6 years old. Also children are welcome to join for summer camp fun! Family childcare in a “home-like” setting is the best alternative for working parents. It provides a small, secure environment for children during their most important development time. At Playful Minds, education goes beyond academic subjects, encompassing essential values like honesty, respect, and kindness. I believe in an effective approach to discipline that involves mutual understanding and clear boundaries, ensuring that children learn from their mistakes without feeling "bad" or unloved. Additionally, fostering unconditional love is paramount to me, as every child deserves to feel valued and cared for without needing to meet numerous conditions. I've cultivated a diverse range of experiences. Here’s what my journey includes as a graduate student from the University of Toronto equipped with the knowledge to enrich the learning environment. I am a certified First Aid and CPR/AED level C individual with over six years of private babysitting through Canadian Nanny Services. Additionally, I have dedicated three years as an emergency supply teacher, honing my skills and fostering a love for education. As a future teacher in a teachers' college, I am eager to contribute my passion and expertise to the next generation of learners. Simultaneously, I am dedicated to nurturing the growth of Playful Minds. The future of Playful Minds will follow an innovative and child-centric approach that is solely interested in the development of each child. Some of Playful Minds Offerings: Tailored Learning Plans: Personalized learning plans designed for each child, focusing on individual strengths, interests, and developmental needs. Also, monthly calendars are used for parents to stay informed about activities, lessons, and events each week. Technology: Benefit from the peace of mind provided by our on-site surveillance cameras, allowing parents real-time access for continuous monitoring of their child's activities and well-being. Nutrition Guide: Playful Minds is committed to healthy nourishment with quality ingredients contributing to children's health and well-being. Parents are also welcome to pack their preferred meals, and I will follow your culinary instructions attentively. If parents wish to pack meals, adhering rigorously to strict allergy considerations for other children in the facility is imperative. At Playful Minds, I believe in tailoring the schedule to best suit each child's unique needs and preferences. Once I've had the opportunity to sit with parents and understand and accommodate all enrolled children's routines, I'll collaboratively craft a schedule that works seamlessly for everyone.
