Daycare Openings, Description and Features

Daycare description / philosophy

I have been caring for children for 25 years! I am a mother of children in school full time, living in the half Moon Bay neighborhood of Barrhaven and I have a special heart, intuition and patience for children--especially young ones.

I offer homemade meals and snacks, including breakfast,morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. Enhanced art activities, reading activites and cooking activities are provided as per the needs, ages of the children and help available to me. In September, we are implementing a music for young children program with the help of my wonderful piano teacher, and my own program "Tales and Treasures", for maxium fun for learning and socialization with other young children in the neighbourhood!

Essential care and nurturing needs are ALWAYS provided for first, activities second.

I am an early childhood educator, with a bachelor's degree concentrating in children's psychology and a doctorate in pastoral counselling. I also have education/training in art and play therapy and have a small childrens psychotherapy practice.

During my early career I was employed as a preschool teacher. During the last number of years I have been working as a private therapist for children and families, spcializing in art and play therapy, with a board of education providing specialized assistance within the classroom. I also piloted the board's first in school art/play therapy program--and loved it all.

We have a smoke free, alcohol free and pet free home.
I charge a flat rate of $905 per month (approx $42/day) which is inclusive of 1 sick day per month (only if required!!!) Stat holidays, a few days between Christmas Eve and New Years and 2 weeks vacation in the summertime. More details can be found on my personal website at www.kerryation.webs.com.
