Daycare description / philosophy

Hello Everyone,

My name is Shirley, I have been working in the child care industry for over 15 yrs. I have my E.C.A. I am here to provide the daycare centre feel but from the comfort of home. I strongly believe children thrive on postitive reinforcement and encouragement to build up positive social and mental development.

I have my police clearence, vunerable screening, childrens aid check as well as I have my first aid and CPR current.

I will provide you daily emails regarding your childs day. Each week you will recieve an email with the weekly calendar as well as any news that you need to be aware of. The children have three circle times a day; music, calendar (theme) and reading. Each child will be encouraged to participate in group and individual activities. We go outside each and everyday weather providing. I like showing the children the world around them and the animals and insects that live within it. Each day there is a craft choice provided as well as sensory.

Home cooked meals are cooked by myself each day. The children are encouraged to try everything. You will be provided with a sample menu as part of the daycare package. If you would like to have something added please let me know so I can add it to our menu.

The children are taught basic sign language to encourage early speech. This helps them communicate when they are just learning to speak.

I also have experience with children and adults with special needs.
