Daycare description / philosophy
My Program
As a Mom, I always wanted my children to experience many different things in their lives. I wanted them to have fun while learning and from my experience as a teacher, daycare provider and Mommy I have come up with a program that I LOVE for my children and can't wait to share with yours.
The children in my care are introduced to Sign Language while they are still young and not able to communicate with words. I find this helps them to express themselves, be able to share their wants/needs before being able to form words. I send home samples of the words that I am teaching my young toddlers for the parents to practice at home as well.
My curriculum is also based in french as well and english. When we learn new words we learn how to say them in both languages. The parents love this aspect of the programming and the children have no idea they are learning something new :)
My preschool program includes learning through animated literacy in small group settings. Animated literacy is used in numerous school boards and makes learning the ABC's, letter recognition, etc fun. This program combines learning with singing, dancing, drawing, etc.
My programs are age appropriate with developmental activities for each age group. I strive to focus each day on social, emotional, physical and cognitive development for all my munchkins.
Each day consists of:
Breakfast/Lunch/Snacks in between (healthy meals and snacks)
Free Play and structured play
Circle time for stories and singing
Outdoor play (weather permitting)
Time at the park
Daily crafts
Weekly themes- Letter and Numbers of the day
Quiet Time (naps for little ones, quiet activities such as reading, colouring, etc for the older ones)
TV Time is VERY limited in my programming. If there is a disney movie that follows our weekly theme we may watch it on a rainy or very cold day. Little ones are able to watch Baby Einstein dvd's or occasionally we will watch some Treehouse TV.
Dramatic Play
Enrichment Activies, Fine Motor Activies
Sensory and Tactile Activities
Learning Activities
~ Infants/Toddlers parents receive a daily report (what they ate/drank, diaper changes when and what was in them :) how long the nap time was, the mood of the infant during the day as well as anything else that went on in our day.
