Daycare description / philosophy

Tiny Owl's Child Care is a teacher-friendly daycare located in Stittsville, offering full-time care during the school year from September until June, and part-time care in the summer. My goal is to provide a happy, healthy, and safe environment where your child can learn, grow, and have fun while you are at work. A little about me: I'm a loving and devoted wife and mother to two children, a 17-year-old son, and an 18-year-old daughter. I received my Bachelor of Education in 2001 and am certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. I have always loved children and have over 20 years of experience working with them in a wide variety of settings, such as elementary schools, middle schools, private schools, and a daycare centre. I opened my own home daycare in January 2010 and have enjoyed caring for all the little ones who have come through my door since then. Most of my daycare children are with me for many years, starting when they're babies and only leaving when they go off to preschool/school. Available Spot: One full-time spot opening up in September 2026 (with a phase-in period in August) for a child between the ages of 16-20 months. What my daycare offers: * A large walkout basement area totally dedicated to the daycare - includes a kitchenette, separate sleeping areas, bathroom, and open play space. * Indoor/outdoor play (we are located steps from the Stitt Street Park and several trails). * Healthy snacks and lunch provided daily (lots of fruits, veggies, and whole-grain items). * Crafts, songs, stories, music, dancing, colouring, calendar, self-help skills, and many other age-appropriate developmental activities await your child each day. * Low-ratio daycare ( 1 caregiver for 3/4 children). * Smoke-free home * Daily health screening * Clean police record check, receipts, and excellent references. Other info: * My family and I are fully vaccinated and are looking for families who share similar health-conscious values. * Please note Tiny Owls is not part of the $10/day CWELCC plan. * We have a small dog, Ollie, who is on the main floor during daycare hours. Even though he doesn't share the daycare space with us, I feel it is important to let potential families know there is an animal in my home.
