Daycare description / philosophy

We, at Ola Day Care, believe that the first five years of a child's life are the most important and the developments during those years are essential for her/his future success. We are committed to providing high quality care in an educational environment; exposing the children to a stimulating curriculum and allowing them to develop at their own pace. Our curriculum includes child-directed activities such as exploration, sensory play, science, literacy, cognitive development, and small and large motor activates. Our program emphasizes the need to achieve the child's learning experience through play. All of our activities are developed from this basic philosophy. The Piaget method encourages this idea: Children learn by observing what happens when they interact with materials and other people. They spontaneously engage in activities such as block building, painting, or dramatic play, adding pieces of information to what they already know and thereby generating new understandings In keeping with this philosophy, Ola Daycare Centre provides a program that helps children develop a love for learning, independence, self-control and the ability to interact positively with others. Our center has two rooms a Preschool and a Toddler room. We also have a beautiful big back yard for out door play. Our loving and nurturing staff are all RECE and RECA certified, experienced over 10 years in High Scope Method in High Park Area. We offer a fun action packed day of music, crafts, out door play, walks, naps. Our center also offers Music and movement once a week as well as Dance class at Brodway art studio.
