Daycare description / philosophy
SMCC believes in providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment in which children can grow and develop at their own pace. Our program offers stimulating activities that encourage emotional, intellectual, and physical growth, independence and overall social well being.
We develop social development through interaction while playing, creating and learning using various areas in the Centre. Tha Centre is divided into sections where children use imaginative skills, play games, drama, music and wonderful arts and crafts.
Our goal is for each child to develop a well rounded individual by offering activities geared towards responsibility and independence as well as working towards developing values through communication using manners and positive attitudes.
Learning is achieved through play. Children find excitement and enthusiasm in free play as well as organized games and activities in our indoor classroom, outside playground and gym. We take walks to our neighborhood, libraries and local parks. We take pride in our regular visits to the Salvation Army Retirement Home and Palliative Care which encourage our children to explore various walks of life, ethinicity, amd multiculturalism.
SMCC believes that each child is a unique individual. We encourage families to communicate with us in any concerns possible regarding their child's development. SMCC adheres to the Human Rights Code which is providing quality child care without bias or judgement. Staff, families and visitors all have equal treatment with regards to work environment, services, goods and facilities.Daycare Features
