Hello, my name is Amanda, and I am an experienced early childhood educator residing in the Bathurst and 16th area of Maple. I hold a Diploma with the highest honors in Early Childhood Education from Stratford Career Institute. Additionally, I have completed the Community Child Care Training Program and continuously engage in online training and research to enhance my knowledge in the field. My passion for working with young children began many years ago. In 2005, I started my journey as a teacher in various daycares and tutoring settings. The valuable experience I gained during this time allowed me to develop a deep understanding of children's unique needs and diverse backgrounds. In 2008, I took the exciting step of establishing my own daycare, which has been providing exceptional care ever since. Understanding the developmental stages and learning processes of children at different ages is a fundamental aspect of my training. I have extensively studied early child psychology and development, equipping me with the knowledge to design age-appropriate activities for the children under my care. Whether it involves setting up a nurturing environment for babies and toddlers or catering to the needs of older children, I prioritize creating a safe space where children and their parents feel confident and comfortable. With experience working with children as young as 7 months old, I have implemented a mixed Montessori approach that combines student-led and self-paced learning with guidance and enrichment from caring educators. I firmly believe in individualized plans to meet the specific needs of each child, ensuring they receive the support and attention necessary for their growth and development. Building positive relationships with the children is at the heart of my approach. I understand the significance of managing behavior effectively and teaching children essential values such as teamwork, patience, and respect for one another's needs. Additionally, I recognize the crucial role nutrition plays in a child's overall well-being. I take great care in planning nutritious meals, supervising meal times, and being attentive to any dietary changes or restrictions. In my daycare, I foster a multicultural environment where children are encouraged to communicate in their preferred language. I am fluent in both English and Russian, and I value diversity and inclusivity. Furthermore, I have access to various facilities, including city parks and community centers with libraries in the vicinity. While these resources are beneficial, I prioritize utilizing my backyard as a safe and engaging playground for outdoor activities.
