Daycare description / philosophy

Welcome/Bienvenue!

My name is Marisa and I would like to invite you to my amazing Home Daycare. My aim is to make each child feel safe and secure in a warm and supportive environment.

Among the many advantages to you as parents/guardians: 1) My location. I am situated on a quiet residential street between St-John and Blue Haven just five minutes away from Fairview Shopping Centre and Highway 40. 2) My small child ratio (maximum of 6) and 3) My seventeen years experience as a certified early childhood educator.

I am the mother of an amazing twenty-four-year-old girl. I am recognized by the Coordination Bureau des Services de Gardes de la Pointe Inc. which conducts three annual controlled visits to ensure that government regulations and standards are enforced and maintained. I have my CPR training, First Aid certificate, and police check (including all family members over 18 years old). I undertake yearly training courses to ensure ongoing professional development and remain current of leading educational procedures.

Opening hours are from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday to Friday. Extended hours can be arranged if required. Full-time and part-time spots are available.

Your child's safety is of the utmost concern. My daycare is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors on each level, security locks, barriers, outlet stoppers and fire extinguishers.

My facilities include a clean and spacious ground floor, two room play space with lots of sunlight. There is also a huge fenced-in backyard with lots of toys and green space for running out and getting plenty of exercise. I offer a nutritious breakfast and two healthy snacks. Lunches are always 100% fresh and home-cooked, following the Canada Food Guide.

My goal as an early childhood educator is to give your child the tools and skills he/she will need to excel and succeed at school. I offer an enriched bilingual program that focuses on learning through play and is designed to bring out your child's creativity and developmental abilities in a fun and supportive environment. Some of the activities your child will participate in are: reading, painting and drawing, music and singing, dress-up, cutting and pasting, blocks, puzzles, memory games and circle time. My small classroom size allows me to give each child personalized attention and the flexibility to develop each at his/her own pace.
