Daycare description / philosophy

On January 4th, 2010, after 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher in a private bilingual school in Chile, South-america, I started a Home Daycare in Aylmer. I decided to prepare the children very well for Kindergarten, as only 29% of all subsidized home daycares in Quebec are considered of good quality. The children learn English and French, plus Spanish.

I provide full time care to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

The philosophy is that each child is unique so I provide plenty of opportunities for kids to be themselves and have fun in a positive environment. I promote an early integration of all the instructional areas in the life of a child using a carefully structured program.

This Program includes:
- An integration of learning and childcare in a structured, positive atmosphere
- Instruction in English, French and Spanish
- Arts, music, play, language, storytelling and lots of creative activities.
- Circle times: songs and games
- sign language for babies
- pre-reading and pre-writing
- pre-math
- Rhymes and songs
- Preparation for Kindergarten
- Preparation for derogation

- Happy Face provides an environment where children may interact with each other safely in a place of mutual respect and trust, where each child is considered unique and special, and their talents, skills, abilities and vision, matter.

Happy Face is dedicated to provide a warming atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace. I believe that children need to be happy and secure to give their best in learning and that is our priority, the happiness and the security of your children. However, an educational program with real goals is applied.

This program makes use of many play and learning materials that help the children gain confidence in their abilities to do and make things.

I will provide receipts for your income tax. All working parents or students are eligible for the new Advanced Reimbursement if interested: Now refundable monthly by the Quebec government, to be comparable to a $7 a day program if the family income is under $125,000. Average payments after advanced reimbursement are between $7 per day and $11.20 (over $125, 000 family income).
