ALPINE+MONTESSORI+CHILDREN'S+CENTRE calgary daycare listing rating child care review

I witnessed the Alpine Daycare Staff at a community park today. The staff all situated themselves on the sidelines and didn't engage witth the children at all. I witnessed several bullying type situations in which the teachers didn't interfer at all. In fairness, the teachers had no idea they were occurring because they didn't patrol the playground at all. When they wanted to address a child they yelled at the child from were they were stationed on the sidelines. One little girl fell off the ladder and somersaulted onto the ground. She hit her head and I went over to offer her aid. She had rubber bits from the ground all inside her mouth and was crying loudly. No caretaker came to help. I had to ask another child who was in charge and take the girl over to the teacher myself. Yes accidents happen. But a teacher has a responsiblility to patrol the premises and be aware of what is going on with the children. Based on my observations the teachers did a poor job addressing the needs of the children.

This is simply not true of \\\"our\\\" teachers at Alpine! This is a community park and is visited regularly by 2 area daycares, several day homes and local families. We encourage communication between our teachers and area residents to maintain a cohesive community presence. I personally, as the owner have often visited this park to observe from afar. Our EDUCATED and experienced teachers are engaged and do move amongst the children while playing. Through conversations with the nearby parks \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"at home\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" neighbors, we have established their offer of support if ever an emergency situation should arise. During the summer months older neighborhood children play here and are often unsupervised. This particular child that fell was in fact also observed by one of our teacher\\\'s, however belonged to another daycare program. One of her teachers did console to the crying child when approached.
