Mission Statement
Rainbow Day Care and Out of School Care believes in the delivery of a high quality child care program in support of families within a multicultural community that provides a safe, clean, nurturing environment that promotes the social, physical, literacy, intellectual, creative and emotional development of
each child. All interactions between staff, children and their families are guided by mutual respect for the individuals and their special qualities. Rainbow will protect the health and safety of each child; nurture and respect each child; provide opportunities for involvement with caring staff, stimulating play and safe exploration of each child\'s environment. Rainbow will help each child fee safe and encourage a sense of self-worth through warm, supportive and responsive interactions between staff and each child.
Rainbow would never ask a parent or anyone else to punish a child, however,we would ask a parent/guardian to set guidelines and limits at home similar to Rainbow\'s limits and guidelines for each child. Children thrives when they know what is expected of them and the adults in their lives must provide clear guidelines and set clear boundaries. When the child has many care givers, including day care workers, mom, dad, grandparents, the child quite often gets confused because of the various methods of child guidance used by each adult. All adults in the child\'s life need to work in a team and be on the same page when guiding the child. When these adults in the child\'s life are not on the same page, the child gets confused and the child gets frustrated, and as a result the child\'s behavior becomes very challenging. Rainbow works with the family and provides resources for the family in our effort to assist the child. When the family refuses to work with us after many attempts on our behalf; and/or any of the family member\'s behaviors is inappropriate/abusive towards our staff, especially in the presence of other children; or our policies and procedure are not adhered to, we have no choice but to end the contract. We would never end the contract in the presence of a child or children, however, if the parent/guardian was abusive towards our staff in the presence of children, we would ask them to leave the premises immediately and end the child care services immediately. The parent/guardian is given a parent handbook to read at the time of registration, which includes all our policies and procedures. We do not provide the full lunch for children, however, we do provide two healthy snacks plus soup and milk at lunch to supplement the lunch from home. The parent/guardian is given a full orientation before the child starts attending Rainbow, which includes tour of the facility; all policies and procedures are reviewed; parent is asked provided a full lunch, indoor/outdoor shoes and weather appropriate clothing for the child.

I can't believe how UNPROFESSIONAL this daycare is! They told my 5 year old daughter to her face that "they didn't want her to attend the daycare".. They told me that I do not "punish" my children enough (basically telling me to hit or yell at my children to behave better), and they always had something to complain about! I would NEVER EVER recommend this daycare to any parent with young children! If you are looking for a daycare centre in this area I absolutly RECOMMEND you find other alternatives!!!! Also, they do not provide adequate meals for children! You are required to bring your own food!
