Meals are provided by parents, I hope to see more prewriting, letter tracing. But overall the staff and curriculum is amazing. They are so loving to all of the children.

Thank you for your comment. We will work on communicating with parents how we teach pre-writing skills. Here is a description of how we teach pre-reading and pre-writing skills:
We use the Fun Family Phonics program to teach letter and sound recognition and to encourage pre-reading skills. On Mystery-letter-Mondays we introduce the letter of the week at Morning Circle. We use gross motor movements to draw the letter in the air and on the carpet while the teacher uses glue and sparkles to outline the letter. Each day at Morning Circle we work on a new element of letter and sound recognition. For example, on Wednesdays we looked at photos of things that start with the letter of the week. Today we sounded out \\\"n\\\" and felt our noses vibrate when we practiced the sound of \\\"n\\\" After that we asked the children to identify other words that start with \\\"n\\\" and we recorded them on the wipe board that is on display at Circle. The teacher draws simple pictures to go with the words so that the children learn that the letters are symbolic.
Through out the week the children have opportunity to practice the letter of the week on work sheets. We are collecting all the work sheets in a file to make into books when the children have completed the whole alphabet.
We believe that children learn best using multi-sensory experiences so, for example, at the playdough table we will make letter shapes or at the block centre we will use blocks to form the letters of the child\\\'s name. At times we have used pebbles and sticks to form letters or had clothes pegs with letters to match on a master board. Hope this explains our teaching methods!
