I am writing this review because I feel NO PARENT or person looking for an ECE job should come to this facility. This daycare is the most unorganized, dirty, cluttered daycare I have ever seen. You walk in and you feel the tension between the staff, Ive often noticed seeing staff stressed out and over ratio, I have been told none of the staff have FIRST AID or CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS which is VERY important for me to put my child into a daycare. You talk to the director and she gives you no answers, NOR returns your phone calls. There were NEVER any learning stories for my child, the toys and equiptment were unbelievable dirty, as well as my child always came home filthy. There are holes in the walls and floors covered in dirt. I believe this daycare is a free-for-all and I feel bad for ANY staff or child that has to attend there. I have pulled my children out for this reason. I do not belive this daycare should be open, and who ever is responsible for daycare checks is NOT doing their job.

I just became aware of these reviews and, even though they are seven and nine years old, I felt compelled to write a rebuttal to the completely false and offensive claims that the reviewers have made. I'll not bother addressing the issues of a reviewers OPINION (i.e. "unorganized, dirty, cluttered...) as I cannot speak to someone else's perceptions; however, I can absolutely confirm that EVERY individual, employed at Reaching for Rainbows, now or in the past, most definitely has a clear criminal record check completed before beginning employment, and renewed every five years. This is a provincial regulation and is strictly monitored by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. First aid certification is also mandatory for all staff, in a licensed early learning centre, and I can confirm that everyone employed at Reaching for Rainbows, now or in the past, has received first aid certification prior to, or within one month (as the regulation stipulates), of starting employment. As for "holes in the walls and floors covered in dirt", I can only contend that, firstly, this has been grossly embellished, and secondly, that our educators' focus and attention is on the children and their programming, rather than cleaning, while children are present (other than, of course, cleaning up after lunch and activities, etc.). That being said, in the mornings, before children arrive, and at the end of the day, once children have gone home, is when the majority of the cleaning gets done (i.e. floors swept and mopped, toys sanitized, etc.).
Finally, I will share my opinion of how unfortunate it is that someone would take the time to write a nasty review; compromising the reputation of a group of people who genuinely care about the children and families they care for and put their all into this profession, every single day - often receiving little acknowledgement, let alone equitable remuneration, rather than address the issue with the owner/director, who could have actually done something to address the issues. My guess is that it was more important to the "reviewer" to spread falsehoods and smear the reputation of sincerely good people, than it was to actually have their concerns addressed.
