The teachers are very good, all have Early Childhood Education degree. Kids get outside everyday (usually twice a day) unless the weather is really bad, then they use the gym facilities at SMU. Teachers are very patient and keep kids busy with crafts. Kids that are naughty will get time outs if they are being rough. All kids are happy and playing nicely. Independance and helping is encouraged - kids learn to clean up and share. Consistent with hand washing and all the food is homemade fresh healthy meals and snacks made in their kitchen on site. The only downside is that the classroom facilities are very small but it has been hard for them to find a bigger facility in dtwn Halifax. They get outside a lot so that helps. We are happy with this daycare. Waiting list for this facility can take up to 18 months, priority to St. Marys staff/students, so sign up when you are pregnant!
