I have seen Ruth interact, play, dance and get down on the floor and just have fun with all the children. Yes, there have been 'learning' incidences - with just about EVERY child, hers or others. Ruth treats them all respectfully but firmly. Her toilet training skills are to be admired. She is thoughtful and kind and strives to show that to the children she watches. The drop-in is NOT for the caregivers to be micro-managing the children and their time, it is for the children to interact, socialize, share (or learn to), learn and become even better as they get older. The adults watch, guide and when necessary, intervene. That is preparing them for JK and beyond.
