I was looking for daycares around the Durham region area for my 3 year old son and one of the daycares that I was looking into is the Park Childcare Centre. Based on what other parents that I know that had their kids registered in this daycare said that the parents felt that the staff and the operator does not genuinely care about the well-being of the kids in their care. The parents also noted that there seems to be a high turnover with the staff as they hardly see the same teacher on a daily basis. Also the staff doesn’t seem to be happy being there. This is probably why the quality of care is inconsistent. Most daycares provide nutritious meals and activities for children but if the quality of care is low, then your child suffer in the long term – both emotionally and academically. From a parental perspective, I would rather spend an extra $7 to put my child in a higher quality child care so that he can develop better social skills and cognitive performance.
