My daughter, Antaya, started Tykes of Columbus Daycare in Oshawa when she was 18 months old and left when she was 5. Since I was a first-time mother, I was reluctant to leave my child in the care of others. I had screened about 6 daycares and did not get good vibes from any of them until I met up with Tykes owner, Peggy, and one of her long-term caregivers, a wonderfully chatty woman named Isobel who always had a smile and a story. Antaya's teacher was Kelly, and you'll never meet anyone like her. She's as cool as a cucumber and never flustered except maybe when I'd disrupt the quiet class with my whistling. I knew right at the get-go that this is where my child had to be and I knew she was in good hands. I never had to worry about her at all during the day because they cared for her as I would have. They are a great group of kind, yet firm and compassionate individuals who really know how to care for children. I wouldn't hesitate a second to bring my child there.
