Our son started at Teddy Bear when he was 19 months old. Things were fine at first and, after a few weeks of crying on drop-off, he seemed to bond with the two teachers in the toddler room. Then, a few months in, one of his teachers quit, letting us know it was because of the poor benefits and vacation time. Shortly after, the other teacher in the room was abruptly moved down to the preschool room. So our son suddenly had two new teachers and the crying upon drop-off began anew. Luckily, one of the new teachers turned out to be a gem and our son quickly bonded with her. From this point on, however, we noticed a trend of staff turnover at the centre. Along with several other families, we signed a letter stating our concerns and requesting a group meeting with management. The owner refused a group meeting, and called each family who had signed the letter. His explanation was "it's a high-turnover industry." Did not address group's concerns or take responsibility at all. We have decided to take our son out.
