I am having a hard time finding licensed care for my 3 year old that extends open past 5:30pm in the evenings. I work a 12-8pm shift and therefore cannot go with traditional daycares, nor do I wish to use a private home unless it can accommodate several children. I want my son to have other children to play with but feel the choices are limited when you work an abnormal shift. Any help finding such would be appreciated.

There are daycare centers in Quinte West! There is Quinte West Daycare and there is the Sisken Center at CFB Trenton, Nova Daycare between Trenton and Belleville. There is also Licensed home childcare program offered through the Ontario Early Years Center on Mcdonald ave in Belleville. There is an Ontario Early Years Center in Belleville and also 2 others 1 in Trenton(Quinte West)at St Peter's school in Trenton and 1 at the YMCA Brighton. It is difficult to find space at the daycare centers especially for children under 2. The fees usually run between $35-$50 a day. Many families who are on Maternity leave wait way too long to secure a spot. Parents should take advantage of the children's programs offered by the OEYC, they are free and great fun and learning for your children. The Sisken Center at CFB Trenton offers lots and lots of programs for children and parents (613) 392-2811 ask for the Sisken Center. Good Luck in your search!
