Daycare description / philosophy

Hello, my name is Tara and I am the face behind this mini Montessori inspired home childcare here in Georgetown. I graduated from Early Childhood Education at Sheridan College Oakville in 2009. I have over 6 years experience in working in different childcare centres; one where I was the Lead ECE in the kindergarten classroom and the other being the Lead toddler Montessori teacher. I completely fell in love with the Montessori approach to learning. I was a stay at home mom for a couple of years but decided that it was time to get back into the field. I have only opened my home childcare January 2021 and I am so happy to be get back to what I am really passionate about. In my classroom we follow a daily routine which includes independent work, story time, arts and crafts, cooking/baking, science experiments and outdoor activities. My main focuses are practical life skills, independence, language/culture and math. - Weekly menu is provided which includes 2 snacks and lunch. (all lunches are homemade.) - Please keep in mind that this is a dog friendly home (dogs are kept away from the classroom during childcare hours) - CPR/First aid - Police record and Vulnerable sector check - Registered Early Childhood Educator - Receipts/invoices provided every month - References are available. *A couple of spots open for September 2021* I look forward to hearing from you!
