Daycare description / philosophy

My name is Sarah Provo.I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator, registered with the College of ECE's, I am also a trained labor and postpartum Doula. I have been operating our loving home base family daycare since 2003. The Children's Place Family home daycare provides families with childcare in an intimate, inclusive, nurturing, positive, fun, educational home environment while offering high quality, developmental activities that are offered in a larger commercial childcare centre. The Children's Place Family home Daycare is affiliated with a licensed Toronto base agency, which grants parents access to Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (currently 52.75% reduction in child care fees) At The Children's Place Family Home daycare you are guaranteed proficient childcare for your family. Here you will receive Daily reports, live updates informing you on your child's day including toileting, eating, playing areas they had indulged in via Lillio App. Monthly newsletters and calendars are created to inform parents on weekly planned, teacher-led activities that the children will be exploring. The Children's Place has annual daycare family celebrations for special occasions such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthdays, field trips with parents, Christmas Parties, Summer BBQ's and Graduation Ceremonies. The Children’s Place Daily Schedule/activities: Morning: 8:00-8:45 drop off /free play sensory, small manipulative play (ex. puzzles, beading, cutting/gluing) 9:00-morning snack: at least 2 of the 4 food groups served Example: bagel with cream cheese, and grapes or yogurt and banana or dry cereal and orange slices. *water is served at snacks and throughout the day as children need) 9:30- diapering, toileting/ 10:00 - outdoor play (backyard play or outing; may include nature walk, local park, library) Afternoon 11:30- come indoor, wash up 11:45- lunch: all four food groups are severed at lunch Example: Organic corn, Chick Peas, rice. or organic spaghetti with organic tomato sauce with organic lentils, grated cheese. Milk (organic soy or almond) is always the beverage at lunch. 12:30- brush teeth, wash up, diapering/toileting 12:45- Circle time: songs, group games, stories 1:00- nap time/quiet time 2:30- wake up, diapering/toileting 2:45- Afternoon snack: at least 2 of the 4 food groups served Example: Cucumber slices and granola bar or cheese slices and crackers, and water is served at snacks) 3:15- outdoor play 4:00- pickup starts 4:30-daycare closes *schedule will be adapted to meet needs of infants enrolled for naps and age appropriate activities I believe all children are unique individuals that should be recognized, embraced and praised. I offer a loving, stimulating, earthy, environment that allows children to grow and succeed. Creating healthy, trusting relationships with the children in my care and establishing respectful partnerships with parents is of most importance to me and my caregiving philosophy.
