Daycare description / philosophy

Hello, welcome Adoring Dayhome Childcare! I have a full-time or part-time spot opening up for October or November! Looking for age 18 months and up. Open from 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday I have a large, safe, play area with lots of natural light. The separate sleeping room, with large window, is video monitored. There is a wide range of age appropriate toys. A big fenced-in back yard with kids play house and large swing set. I run a outdoor summer program. Weather depending we are outside from 8:30-4:30 during the summer and as much as possible in the spring and fall. We pretty much hibernate during the winter months. We offer lots of music, circle time, story time, crafts, puzzles, building forts, gardening and have plenty of free play time. We bake once a week. I have Musical Discoveries come in twice a month! She introduces music to little ones in a fun, exciting manor. They sing, explore many instruments, do rhythmic marching, drumming, and parachute time. I have a kids yoga instructor come in twice a month! The classes include reading / some games and some yoga poses... think of it more as a yoga adventure. I book the City of Calgary's story truck, library on wheels as often as I can! The music, yoga, and story truck are all pre covid. I hope to have the kids yoga class and music class back this spring. Currently the story truck does drop off a bin of books for the kids every 3 weeks. I provide structured learning and follow a daily schedule. I introduce ABC's, numbers, colors, and shapes. We also do preschool activities. I offer a private Facebook group to the parents of the children in my care. I update it daily with our daily schedule, meals, naps, and plenty of pictures of the little ones playing, creating art and sometimes meal time. I have Standard First Aid and have police clearance. I feel that WHAT we eat is important! The growth of our children's minds and bodies depend on it. I offer 90% organic, whole fresh, plant based foods. I try to stay clear of packaged, preserved, GMO's and added sugars. I can offer detailed menus weekly. I provide breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks everyday. I do not offer school drop offs or pick ups. We are home based and do not drive but do get out for short walks. I am fully insured. I have 2 kids of my own ages 8 and 5. I usually run full with 6 Dayhome children plus my own 2. I take pride in my home. I have a professional cleaner come in once a month. I also have a daily and weekly cleaning routine. Furnace and ducting are cleaned on a semiannual basis. All smoke alarms are checked regularly for up to date batteries. Front walkway is kept clear from snow and salted as needed. Our furnace has been replaced this year. I upgraded the air filtration system to a MERV 16 "Healthy Climate" which includes a dual UV-light air purifier and carbon filter.
