Daycare description / philosophy

Hello! My name is Lori and I have had the honour and privilege of providing a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children 9months-12years old to socialize, learn and grow in and around our community for the past 15 years in my Hundred Acre Woods Dayhome.

I have over 30 years of childcare experience, which includes raising 2 of my own teenage boys and providing care to other families throughout my life from my early teens as an hourly babysitter for a family of 6 to eventually becoming their nanny into my early 20’s. I have worked and volunteered in many different child filled settings including Hospitals on pediatric wards, Church Sunday School classes, Elementary Schools and Licenced Day Care Centres.

I understand that leaving your child for the first time with someone you hardly know can be a scary, overwhelming and stressful experience for a family. I am here to hopefully make that transition and experience a positive and happy one. To help make it as stress free as possible. My philosophy is simple, children need a place to feel safe, loved and have fun! That, along with guidance, positive reinforcement and consistency and routine makes for GREAT days and HAPPY Children!!

Our days are filled with games, songs and stories, crafts, creative play and more. I have a large, fully fenced back yard and am within walking distance to numerous parks and pathways. Weather permitting, we try to get outside everyday. We occasionally go on fun and exciting field trips to places like the Zoo, Telus Spark Centre, Kayben Farms and the Calgary Corn Maze. We often go to the Field House or Foothills Gym Stars for their drop in programs to run, jump and play!

My home is conveniently located on the North end of town, minutes from Ecole Good Shepherd School. It is SMOKE and PET FREE. I have my FIrst Aid, Child CPR, Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. I have flexible hours from 6am-6pm Monday-Friday ofering Full Time, Part Time, Drop-in and B/A School care options, competitive rates, multiple payment options and EXCELLENT references.
