Hi. I am a parent of 3 children and also an ECE/Special Needs Consultant. I am currently home with them and providing home child care to others.

When I looked into care for my 3 boys, then aged 7,3, and almost 1, it was going to be approx. $2000 a month to get care for them. And forget finding a group centre in my 2 son's school area! There were NONE! I even called the Children's Services licensing specialist for this area directly. No chances of a centre opening up either, private or city based.

I could go on the long wait list for subsidy and I might qualify for some assitance, some time in the future. But my only option for subsidized care would be home care and it would be unlikely I'd get all 3 boys with one provider.

Being in the profession, I knew it would be tough finding care. But not this tough! So, now I am home with them instead. I can use my skills and education to care for others and my own children.
